Home|Patient Guide| Stay at the hospital

You will be taken to your room by a healthcare staff member from the patient care unit. Upon arrival to the room your nurse will review some important information with you. You must provide accurate and complete information to the health care team about your healthcare needs. You are kindly requested not leave your room or care area without first informing the duty nurse.  We recommend not carrying any valuables with you during the hospital visit and admission. The hospital will not be held liable for any loss of valuables.

•    Room

Your hospital room is designed to meet your needs effectively with the emphasis on making your stay comfortable and protecting you from exposure to infection.

The room is equipped with the following services:

Nurse call system - You may use the nurse call system at your bedside, along with another call system located in the bath room.

Entertainment display screen - Entertainment display screen equipped with telephone, internet, satellite TV channels, Radio, entertainment films, hospital menu catering to all tastes.

WIFI - WIFI is available throughout the hospital.

Air conditioning - You can adjust your room temperature from the AC controller by yourself or you can ask the nurses for assistance.

•    Identification

You will be provided with an identification wrist band with your name and CPR number that will be applied on your hand or ankle upon your admission. You are kindly requested not to remove this band before you are discharged from the hospital.

Newborn infants shall wear two identification bands (one on a wrist and the other on an ankle). 

•    Meal Times

The restaurant at the King Hamad Hospital is well appointed. Meals are prepared by the Department of Nutrition at the hospital. Three meals are served daily and patients may choose, in advance, from the menu their selection for the following day under the recommendation of their attending physician. If you miss a meal due to your treatment or other reason the duty nurse will arrange for your meal to be served upon your return.

If you are on a special diet, diet meals will be provided for you according to your doctor’s instructions. Meals prepared by the family are not allowed due to health reasons.

Meals are provided at the following times:

Breakfast 6:00 am

Lunch 11:50 am

Dinner 6:00 pm
